Still beats me how in a democratic society, not only can the minority block the work of the parliament just because millionaires don’t get a tax break, but also block any bill from passing…
The 9/11 First Responders bill got majority of votes both in the House of Representatives and in the Senate. Yet, it hasn’t yet been approved. How come? Well, apparently in order for Senate to approve a law they need to have 60 Senators to vote for it, not 50. It’s called “filibuster“. Where is it in the Constitution? Right next to the “Christianity is the US official religion”. It’s not there.
At least the DADT has been repealed today, that’s a start.
