The power we have as consumers

I already mentioned the Bank Transfer Day before.

It appears that I’m not the only one pledged to leave his bank over the rising fees. More than 21000 clients of Bank Of America pledged to leave BOA over the newly imposed $5 debit card fee. Well, guess what: Bank of America drops $5 debit card fee.

I’m pretty sure most of the people who made the decision to leave BoA already – will leave it anyway. But it does go to show that we can change things. By organizing protests, and taking actions, each and every one of us can make a difference.

Of course, any single client coming into a BoA (or any other bank) branch trying to negotiate fees will be ridiculed and laughed at.

But twenty one thousands clients moving their money out of the bank? Now, that’s something for the bank managers to think about.

Way to go, BTD organizers, and way to go the clients pledging to leave the bank that thinks they’re its milking cows.
