Happy May Day!
Yes, I know that for some it might be strange that the traditionally “red flags and parade on the Red Square” day should be celebrated, but it should.
It is ironic that some suggest using this day to diminish the achievements of the labor unions by demoting it to “lets hate the communists” day. Its sick enough that “socialist” is a curse in the US, we don’t need to outlaw the equality and fairness, and definitely not ignore the fact that the story of Oliver Twist can no longer happen in the Western society.
For those who attribute the 1st of May “Labor Day” origins to the Soviet Union please learn the history of your country. It is because of the Chicago Haymarket Massacre that we now can work 9 to 5, not because of the Soviets. Let’s all remember that.
